![]() I used to have a hard time thinking outside of the box. I used to want to be like everyone around me. But now, all I want to do is THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. There is a desire deep inside of my heart to be different than anyone else and to be the unique young woman my Creator made me to be. I hope that you want to think outside of the box too:). It can be scary.. thinking outside of the box.. I mean what if things go wrong? What if you mess up and looks stupid because of it? Trust me these are all things that have come into my mind too. Someone once said, “To live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong.” So here is my encouragement for you: Jump into a life full of creativity and uniqueness. Sometimes things might get messy and things won’t go as planned, but that’s ok. No one expects you to be perfect and you shouldn’t either. I hear this a lot, “Come on you solve that problem, just think outside of the box.” But what exactly does thinking outside of the box mean? The actual meaning behind thinking outside of the box is approaching problems in new, innovative ways. It also means to conceptualize problems differently and understand your position in relation to any particular situation in a way you’d never thought of before. However, in this blog, I want to put a different twist on it. Here is my definition of thinking outside of the box: seeing the world around you through the eyes of God. Hearing the conversations around you through the ears of God. Loving those around you just like God does. Here are some ways to do that:
2. See the beauty around you It is so crazy how fast time flies. Sometimes it feels like I wake up in the morning and then blink my eyes and it's already dinner. Take time to stop and bask in God’s beauty. It's all around, we just have to remember to stop and enjoy it. As school starts soon, this will be something that I will have to work on as I walk outside in between classes. 3. Do not let fear hold you back Part of thinking outside of the box is accomplished when you do not let fear hold you back. When you look through a new filter of the world around you, you might see someone who needs someone to talk to or someone to sit with them. Don’t be afraid to go and talk to that girl who is sitting all by herself at lunch or the boy who is walking in the hallway with his head down. Be confident that your God is right beside you and is going to honor your thinking outside of the boxiness (is boxiness even a real word?). 4. BE YOU For me, when I think about thinking outside of the box, I think about uniqueness. To be unique just be yourself. God made YOU like NO ONE ELSE. You are unique and beautiful. Be you and enjoy being yourself and the wonderful person that God made you to be. BeYOUtiful. As the new school year starts (ew), I encourage you to think outside of the box. See people in a different way and watch your surroundings for God’s beautiful creation. Take the time to look for God and seek Him and I promise He will meet you there:). I hope you all have a great school year and look at life from a new perspective that is different than the one you had last year. And maybe solve a math problem or two in a new and out of the box way ;). Your Sister in Christ, Lily :)
